Lecturer Level B $100,933 to $119,391 per year plus an employer contribution of A retirement pension of 17% will apply.
Fixed-term contract from June 2022 to December 2022 with possibility of extension.
This is a part-time position (0.7 FTE), but a split appointment may be considered for the right candidate based on business needs.
This position is only open to applicants who hold valid Australian employment rights and visa holders who do not require sponsorship.
The Technological Education Center (TEC) brings together teaching and technology experts from across the SET faculty to offer interdisciplinary and field-focused courses and programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Center provides a stimulating and rewarding environment in which to work and is dedicated to helping define new levels of best practice and to lead the improvement of pedagogy across the Faculty, as well as breaking down traditional disciplinary silos. A significant part of this role involves performing a range of responsibilities associated with teaching and teaching-related duties (80%), which include coordinating courses, developing course materials and assessment activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Other duties include administrative functions that are largely associated with teaching and participation in professional activities within the Faculty and more broadly across the University and its internal and external strategic partners.
To be successful, you will need:
- Advanced degree in linguistics, education or a related field.
- Evidence of successful teaching in language and communication at tertiary level.
- Demonstrated ability in designing and implementing innovative programs.
- Expertise in the use of e-learning technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in course coordination and/or primary responsibility for course outcomes and administrative functions of the Center for Technological Education.
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues in engineering and related disciplines are essential for this position.
